After defeating NCYWO, in the final match of the first Loktak Champion Trophy organised by KLASA, Keinou at its ground, MBSU clinched the champion's title.
It may be recalled that the tournament was commenced from February 25 last with 6 different teams participating.
The final match was played between Nungsai Chiru Youth Welfare Club (NCYWO), Nungsai Chiru and Manipur Brothers' Sporting Union (MBSU), Wahengbam Leikai today.
MBSU beat NCYWO 7-5 in tie break and won the champion's trophy.
Both teams played the match with full determination to win.
Full coordination can be seen among the players of both team.
As they played the match with almost equal skills and tactics, it was hard for one another to dominate over one another.
The first half concluded without any goal by both teams.
In the second half players od both teams tried to tackle over one another and score goals against each other.
The first goal of the match was scored in the 62nd minute of the match by Ningthing of NCYWO.
He scored his team's second goal in the 65th minute.
As they were behind NCWYO by tgwo goals players of MBSU tried hard to equalise the score position.
As a result of their hard efforts Roshan of MBSU scored back one goal against NCYWO in the 70th minute of the match.
The second goal of MBSU was scored in the 83rd minute of the match by Paulin of MBSU.
Spectators witnessed a raging match between the tow teams in the last few minutes of the match.
The match concluded without any further goal by both teams.
In the tie break PD Popuson, PD Omega and K Alien managed to entered the ball inside the net while K Abel missed the target.
On the other hand Boipu, Kabui, Dhananjoy, Dinakumar and Roshan hit the target and defeated NCYWO to win the trophy.
K Saveson of NCYWO was issued a yellow card for his unsporting behaviour during the match.
On the other hand Babumacha of MBSU was also issued a yellow card for his misconduct during the match.
K Paulin of MBSU was awarded the title of best player.
The award for best goalkeeper went to K Thomas of NCYWO.
N Milan of KLASA was honoured with the title of best defender.
Adhyaksha, Bishnupur district, Kh Sorojini graced the closing ceremony as chief guest.
The winners' team was awarded a cash prize of Rs 20,000 alongwith the trophy.
The runners up team was also awarded a cash prize of Rs 15,000 alongwith the trophy.
