In a collective effort to curb rampant sale and use of liquor and drugs, a joint meeting of different organisations based in Senapati district has resolved to prohibit sale and use of liquor after 6 pm in the district.
The joint meeting was attended by representatives of the Senapati Karong Area Town Committee, Senapati District Students' Association, Senapati District Women Association, social workers and community leaders.
The meeting held today at the office of SDSA also agreed on dealing sternly with any one found violating the prohibition including expulsion from the town/village he/she resides.
It further resolved to punish any one found indulging in any form of immoral activity.
The prohibition will cover entire Senapati district with immediate effect, conveyed a release issued by the SDSA.
