Members of Meira Paibis participated in the IGAR (South) organized tour at Delhi and Agra was felicitated at their successful return at camp of the 28 Assam Rifles at Keithelmanbi today.
The tour was flagged off on March 2 last from the Raj Bhavan by the state Governor, Gurbachan Jagat.
The felicitation function held today at Keithelmanbi was arranged by the 28 AR and commandant of the 9 sector brigadier SM, SK Shah graced the function as chief guest.
In the AR conducted tour a total of 27 women (maira paibi) hailing from Keithelmanbi and its surrounding areas took part in the AR conducted tour.
By taking part in the tour, the real charmingly beauty of Delhi and Agra can be witnessed by own eye, said Kh Pramodini who took part in the tour.
Wandered with the uncountable flyovers at Delhi and road communication system, she said comparing Delhi with Agra it can be concluded that the state is in initial stage in term of development.
SK Jhah who spoke as chief guest assured the gathering that such tour will also be organized in future too so that women of the state who are taking leading roles in the society could be exposed to outside world.
Citing the reason behind the state lacking behind in development, he said it is due to non-prevalent of peace in the region.
If peace be given a chance, Manipur will march ahead to other state, Jhah observed.
He also said that Manipur today is far better to what the situation was nine year back.
