Six state boxers advance into semis

Imphal, December 28 2010:
Six state sub junior boxers have advanced into the semi finals of the ongoing 1st Sub Junior Boys National Boxing Championship as the championship entered four days today.
The Bangalore Amateur Boxing Federation and Kolkata Municipal Corporation jointly organized the championship under the aegis of Indian Amateur Boxing Federation at Chetla Park, Kolkata from December 25 .
A total of 10 state sub junior boxers are participating in the championship which will continue till December 30.So far six boxers have entered into the semi finals and three were knocked out.
Manoj (32 kg U-14), Johnson (33 kg U-13), Thouyangba Meetei (42 kg U-14), Md Ibrahim (48 kg U-14), Ngouba Meetei (50 kg U-15) and Naoba (57 kg U-15) entered into the semi finals.
On the other hand Jiten (52 kg U-15), Wattaba (32 kg U-14) and Dinesh (46 kg U-14) were knocked out of the tournament today.
Jiten got defeated to Chandigarh in the quarter final round.
Wattaba and Dinesh got defeated in their pre quarter final bouts.
Gibson and T Seityabanta were the team coach and tegam manager of the state team.
