Former champions Eastern Sporting Union (ESU), Wangkhei crushed title-holders NYThC, Okram Chuthek 7-2 in the final of the 3rd Soraisham Ronika Memorial Junior Girls' Football Tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung today.
ESU, who had won the inaugural edition of the competition, conceded the lead to their opponents when Y Kamala opened NYThC's score in the 12th minute.
Kamala also scored in the 69th minute converting a penalty award.
the Wangkhei girls came back strongly after the initial setback to dominate NYThC in all departments of the game as goals came at regular intervals.
While M Mandakini scored ESU's first goal in the 13th minute to neutralise the rival's one goal advantage, L Naobi found the NYThC nets four times scoring in the 38th, 42nd, 74th and 76th minutes.
Kh Manorama (32nd) and I Premeshori (65th) also contributed one goal each.
The champion team were awarded Rs 15,000 as the runners-up had to content with Rs 10,000.
