Imphal, May 10:
Director of RIMS Prof L Fimate has warned all those doctors of the institute who are engaging in private practice in a number of nursing homes in the city.
In a circular, Fimate expressed serious concern that some of them are doing so during official hours thereby neglecting the patients in RIMS.
This kind of practice is highly irregular, illegal and unethical, he observed, while noting that there had been vitriolic comments in newspapers and patients are angry.
Continuance of the malpractice can result in serious consequences and the doctors will be doing so at their own risk, he cautioned.
