USER Manipur has threatened to launch severe forms of agitation if the concerned authorities do not released funds to the NGOs working in the field of HIV/AIDS in the state within three days counting from today stating that they were not getting the funds for implementation of various programmes since the last around seven months.
Speaking at press conference today the research and information secretary Roshan said that due to the stoppage of the implementation of the targeted infection programme, there is apprehension of increasing the number of infection of people by the decease in the state.
He due to the non-release of the funds for the last seven months, salaries of the staffs of the NGOs could not be distributed which greatly affected in the carrying out programmes related with the awareness to the people to control spreading the decease.
If the state authorities fail to consider their demands, USER with the support of the civil organizations and people will launch several forms of agitations which would make headache to the government, he warned.
