AR man hurt in IED attack

Imphal, August 26 2014:
One Assam Rifles personnel has been injured in a IED blast close to Assam Rifles post at Old Somtal (Samat), Chandel district located along Myanmar-Manipur border area.
The incident happened at 5:40 am today.
Meanwhile, the proscribed UNLF has claimed its hand in the attack.
A spokesperson of the outfit claimed that the attack was carried out by its armed wing MPA.
The attack killed two AR personnel of 28 Sector and left few others injured, claimed the spokesperson.
A remote controlled IED exploded when personnel of 3 AR were patrolling on foot.
In the attack, one Havildar Jagdish Chander (49) was hurt on his head, neck and left leg.
Later, the injured personnel was airlifted by a helicopter to Leimakhong army hospital, according to a source.
