Imphal, Aug 30:
Even as the students of the Moirang College have been urging to make up the shortage of teachers, its Mathematics teacher Azad was transferred elsewhere, said a press release issued by the students' union of Moirang College.
While questioning the motive behind the transfer, it urged the authority concerned to revoke the transfer order.
Noting that the transfer of Azad would be a big blow to the students, it alleged that such a move of the State Government is an indirect attempt to abolish the Moirang College.
It further warned the State Government that the students' union would boycott classes from September if the shortage teachers are not provided and the transfer order is not revoked.
Further, an indefinite road blockade would be imposed along Tidim road with effect from September 6 if the authority concerned still fails to heed the warning.
The students' union also appealed to all students' bodies of the State to support its proposed stir.
