Imphal, October 28:
While maintaining that its demand is justified, the All Manipur Die-In-Harness Appointment Demand Committee (AMDIHADC) has flayed the attempt being made by the State Government to nab its members by using police force.
A statement issued by the Committee warned that such high handed attitude of the State would not bring any solution but rather aggravate the issue.
While the son of late IG Thangthuam was appointed as a graduate teacher in Bengali High School, no such advantage was given to his escort commander Khashiyam who also died on duty, the Committee pointed out the alleged unequal treatment meted out to the employees by the State Government.
It further warned all oil tankers and truck associations to suspend transport service until their demand is met.
The Committee also asked the Manipur Secretariat Service Association (MSSA) and the JAC of AMTUC & AMGEO to support its demand and to undertake cease work stir if the State Government fails to revive the Die-In-Harness scheme within 7 days.
Informing that the economic blockade imposed by AMDIHADC has completed 12 days, it warned of more severe kinds of agitation if the State Government still refuses to pay heed to its demand and warnings.
