Imphal, April 23:
DIG (Range II) Christopher Doungel, his driver and two other escort personnel were injured when the Gypsy they were travelling had a head-on collision with a passenger bus (Canter) near Kodompokpi ground in Wangjing area today morning.
The DIG was going to Khongjom to join the Khongjom Day observation when the mishap occured injuring the police officer and his escorts.
All the injured personnel were rushed to Shija Hospital.
All are out of danger.
The front portion of the bullet-proof police Gypsy was badly damaged in the accident.
The two injured personnel are identified as L Tuboy and N Rajen Singh while the driver is
identified as one Mangboi Haokip.
