Health Minister P Parijat today inspected an alternative site for relocation of TB Hospital and Leprosy Hospital at Keirao Wangkhem today.
The State Government decided to shift the TB Hospital and Leprosy Hospital from its present location at Lei-Ingkhol to make way for High Court complex being taken up under the Capital Project at Mantripukhri area.
The alternative site at Keirao Wangkhem in Imphal East district covering an area of 733 acres was bought by the State Government at Rs 45 lakhs.
Health Minister P Parijat was accompanied by Health Secretary P Vaiphei and Health Director Dr Suresh during his visit to the new site today.
Parijat said that the TB Hospital and Leprosy Hospital will be shifted to the new site from Lei-Ingkhol within this month.
Disclosing that necessary work to relocate the two hospitals can be initiated if Rs 3.5 crores is sanctioned by the Department, Parijat informed that some more acres will be acquired soon.
Later, the Minister and his team visited the TB Hospital and Leprosy Hospital at Lei-Ingkhol.
