Imphal, July 23 2009:
Two ngaren weighting 50 kg and 26 kg said to be fished out from Barak river were brought up at Imphal market for selling today.
People watched the fish with wonder.
The ngarens were caught by one Nouluwat Din Kamei of Kaikau village from Barak river.
When Kamei brought for selling the fish, people thronged to look at.
Later fish venders bought the fishes at Rs 150 per kg.
According to Din Kamei such big fish were usually appeared in the Barak river during the rainy season.
These fishes are from Sea, he observed expressing fear that if the proposed Tipaimukh dam came up, they would not able to see them or fished out.
The purposed dam will give a great impact to the flora and fauna of river, he added.
