Imphal, July 23 2009:
Decrying the failure of the State Government to honour the MoU signed in November last year, in connection with handing over the repairing work of National Highway 39 to the BRTF, Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) has that a 24-hour total bandh will be imposed with effect from July 25 .
In a statement, SDSA president Kuba Peter said the total bandh would exempt vehicular movement of paramilitary forces, medical, water supply and religious programmes but Government institutions and offices would be within the purview of the bandh.
The total bandh would also be followed by intensified indefinite economic blockade on National Highway 39, in case the Government fails to respond, he added.
