Imphal, October 26:
Celebration of Eid this year has been on a sober note for AMMOCOC and All Manipur Muslim Students' Organisation (AMMSO) as AMMOCOC chief auditor Ahamed Hussein has been still languishing in the jail, AMMOCOC vice president Abdul Malik has stated.
Talking to mediapersons at his Hatta Golapati residence today said unlike in the past AMMOCOC and AMMSO did not celebrate Eid with great fanfare as the State Government adamantly refused to set free AMMOCOC chief auditor Ahamed Hussein unconditionally.
Nonetheless, he hoped that Eid would bring the happy tidings of peace and harmony in the State and prosperity among all its people.
While declaring that ongoing agitation of demanding unconditional release of Hussein would be intensified from now onward, Abdul Malik further said AMMOCOC would also be spearheading various intense agitation in solidarity with Irom Chanu Sharmila's struggle for removal of AFSPA from Manipur.
Vice president of AMMSO Ajitmuddin and AMMOCOC publicity secretary Sahid Azam were also present at the occasion.
