Frequent charged diatribes against the Secular Progressive Front (SPF) government for failing to maintain the national highways and failure to take out developmental works in the state testifies the inefficiency of the government.
In that case the government should surrender to the people, demanded the newly appointed president of BJP Manipur Pradesh, Shantikumar Sharma.
In his maiden addressed to the press as the BJP president, Shantikumar wondered who have killed several migrant labourers here during the recent past.
He charged that the situation is another indication of poor governance.
He expressed deep suspicion that the government has been mapping a hidden agenda with the intention to raise the strength of the IRB and MR. Shantikumar charged that the SPF government is resorting to cancelling of affiliations of schools as it failed to formulate an effective education plan.
It miserably fails to make text book available to students under Sarva Siksha Abhiyan.
All the government departments have failed their respective function.
People are scared to venture out right after dusk.
Nobody dares to take the trouble of carrying a few amounts of money with them.
Killing is a daily happening.
There is no law.
Therefore, the government should surrender to the people, Shantikumar contended.
Shantikumar further pledged to work sincerely for the welfare of the party.
Spelling out the party tasks to be carried out, he said, the party will mobilise among the hill and valley people.
It will contest the coming IMC elections in 2011 .
The party will also field candidates in the district council election.
It will fight the coming general election of 2012 together with like-minded political parties.
He said, Salam Santosh, Congress' councilor of Ward No 18 of Yaiskul AC, who deserted the Congress, has been appointed as an executive member of the BJP.
The joining of Santosh will surely give a new impetus to the party.
Santosh said, he is shifting allegiance to the BJP in protest against the Congress' refusal to give party ticket to H Jaydev in the recently held Yaiskul by-poll.
