Demanding justice and concrete assurances from the Govt, the JAC formed to protest the killing of a husband-wife duo and the woman's brother-in-law by unidentified gunmen at Sekta under Lamlai police station on Feb 3 night are yet to take back the bodies, of the three victims.
Though Lamlai PS have registered a case in connection with the triple murder, the police are yet to make any headway in its investigation so far.
Police suspect that the three, Angom Inao and his wife Thamballei and her brother-in-law Phijam Bobo alias Mobi may have been killed by two or more persons as all their hands were found tied behind their back.
Post mortem was conducted at RIMS yesterday.
A huge public meeting was organised by the JAC today at Sekta's Sporting Club ground to condemn the killing.
Among others the meeting resolved to demand Rs 5 lakhs as ex-gratia for the death of the couple and another Rs 3 lakhs for the woman's brother-in-law from the Govt, provide Govt jobs to the children of the bereaved families and to submit a memo to the CM tomorrow to press home the demands raised in the meeting.
It was also agreed that unless the CM gives a standing assurance to fulfill their demands, the bodies of the three victims would not be taken back.
Meanwhile, the police are yet to haul up the youth who was find in a compromising position with one Ngangom Ibemcha near the Iril river on February 3 night while the Lainingthou festival was on.
The youth is identified as Sijagurumayum Rusiya (30) of Khurai Heikru Makhong.
