Thirty year old Irom Chanu Sharmila who had been on fast unto death agitation since the past three years is still sticking to her stand of continuing the ongoing agitation until and unless her demands are fulfilled.
The stand was conveyed to a group of mediamen today inside the special security ward of JN Hospital, Porompat.
During the interaction she also lamented the attitude of the Chief Minister Ibobi led ministry which is negative.
She is demanding removal of the black laws from Manipur.
She said, "I will be sticking to my stand as there is no response from any authority either the state or the centre".
According to the staff nurses of the hospital Sharmila is given rice soup, dal soup, some vitamins along with nutrical milk digene gel and boiled water thrice in a day.
We use boiled utensils for the feeding another senior nurse said.
Meanwhile another lady policewoman who had been watching the physical condition of the girl informed that normally the government had been spending not less than Rs 6,000 in average per month only for nasal feeding stuffs.
She started her agitation since November 2, 2000 a day after the personnel of 8 Assam Rifles mowed down ten innocent civilians including a national awardee at Malom.
She has been tried of attempted suicide.
Unless army stops what the natives of the land in Manipur call "atrocities" meted out on civilians and the centre withdraws the AFSPA 1958 from Manipur Irom Sharmila born to Irom Nanda and Irom Ongbi Sakhi of Kongba in Imphal east district and youngest among the sibling was a regular writer in the local dailies before she took up the agitation.
She also won the best volunteer of the year 2000 award of the United Nations in the XV international volunteer day.
Under the draconian Armed Forces Powers act the security personnel are given "licence to kill".
A number of innocent persons have disappeared after being picked up by the security personnel.
To name a few, Yumlembam Sanamacha missing case, Laishram Bijoykumar's disappearance case, Kwakeithel Boyai's case, Ng Tompok of Komlathabi and Kingsutlin Kom of Churachandpur district, Kangujam Loken and Thokchom Lokendro's missing cases are still hanging heavy in the minds of the general public till date.
The whereabouts of all these persons are still not known.
