Two activists of the proscribed KCP have been arrested from separate areas by Imphal west police commandos and troops of the Assam Rifles in the past 48 hours.
A statement issued by the SSP (IW), said acting on credible information the a joint team of district police commandos and 28 AR arrested an active member of the armed group from Lamsang at around 2 pm today.
Identifying the captive as Irom London alias England Singh (22) s/o I Samu Singh of Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai, the SSP quoted london's disclosure of joining the outfit in July, 2008 through one Bijoy of KCP.
After getting basic training at Burma under the 19th batch of KCP and provided Army No.145, London reportedly disclosed of his arrival to Imphal for medical treatment.
The other KCP (MC) cadre identified as Sobha (37) s/o Chaoba of Ward No 9, Moreh was apprehended last night (7.30 pm) from Forest Gate of Chandel district by troops of 31 AR, said PRO IGAR (S) on a statement issued today adding that the apprehendee had been handed over to Imphal West police station.
