Lamka, December 12 2009:
Passenger vehicles were already diverted and the streets were flooded with winter and festive shoppers, but the banks here present a different impression with many a customer queuing on their counters return dejected and the sole ATM counter closing its door simple because there is no money.
Once in a while similar dilemma surfaces in the district but for the past few years it has become a trend in the Christian's festive season of December.
As a predominant Christian community, people have saved whatever they could for this season but the banks apathy towards its customers in the most hectic season has annoyed many.
Now that SBI Churachandpur has close its ATM for the past four days, claiming they have no enough money and the UBI, the official Chest Bank of the district refusing to share cash to the SBI on the same excuse, it was the common man that was affected the most.
