Imphal, June 12 2012:
With no private players coming forward to take up the task of operating the semi-low floor buses under the Jawaharlal Urban Renewal Mission (JNURM), the State Cabinet has today decided to hand over the task to the Transport Department with the buses set to ply on three routes from June 14 .
Simultaneously the Cabinet has also decided to do away with the no entry of vehicles to the commercial centres of Imphal and instead opt for a one way traffic with one way parking norm.
Four buses are set to ply on route number one, while three buses each will ply on the route number 2 and 3 .
The number of buses on the latter two routes would be increased to four each once two of the buses are repaired.
