After remaining in the cold for some time, Islamic National Front (INF), which was established on April 21, 1995 has announced its decision to start taking up arms against the security personnel for the cause of the people and to regain the lost sovereignty of Manipur.
Talking to media-persons somewhere in Churachandpur district today, army chief of Islamic National Front, the armed wing of the outfit, Raj-ul-Ahmed said the outfit had ceased its operation since May, 2004.But it would resume its operation for the welfare of the people from today along with 70 cadres of the second batch who have undergone military training successfully.
Raj-ul-Ahmed said that INF does not belong to any one particular community, but to all the communities living in Manipur.
Enumerating on some of the tasks to be taken up by the outfit, the army chief said INF would pay serious attention on bringing about quality education in the State.
The Front would also take up action against drug abusers and suppliers.
Moreover, the armed wing of the outfit, Islamic National Front, would work in co-ordination with other revolutionary organisations in fighting against the occupation forces for regaining the lost sovereignty of Manipur, he pledged, while seeking the support of all the people, local clubs and Meira Paibis in this endeavour.
