As pre-emptive measure, L Kailun suggested that for detection and recovery as well as safe disposal of explosives the public avoid unnecessary crowding, alert the police in case unattended or abandoned vehicle is detected/found, insist on verification of identity of any person who wants to leave his/her vehicle in front of houses/shops, avoid contact of any suspicious objects, reject gift/packet from unknown person/s, check the surrounding to detect unsual changes and check any suspicious behaviour of strangers.
Regarding steps to prevent disasters as a consequence of car/vehicle bomb blast, the police officer strongly recommended that transfer of vehicle be done in a proper manner with the involvement of the department concerned, not to lend vehicle to unknown person, park vehicles only at areas assigned or parking areas and not to park at unauthorised area in case there is no occupant.
The statement further appealed to the general public to contact the nearest police station for assistance.
