Imphal, September 19, 2009:
Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long (TMNL) has taken serious note of the problems besetting the health and education sector in Ukhrul district and the grievances of the stake holders.
In a statement signed by its president Zangyo Varam, TMNL lamented the failure of the authorities concerned to release the salaries of the staff in District ART centre for the last 4 to 5 months and to the teachers under ADC for six months inspite of rendering a yeomen service to the society.
"We cannot expect them to serve the people in starvation", Varam said, while questioning why they have been appointed in the first place if they were to be exploited, harassed and ignored altogether.
TMNL has also warned of taking recourse to its own strategic action, if the authorities concerned continue to neglect the due rights of the staff in the ART centre and the teachers in ADC schools.
On the other hand, TMNL has sought an explanation from the Airtel mobile phone service provider for cancellation of SIM registration randomly instead of ensuring quality service in the district.
