Imphal, January 07:
Personnel of State Police Department who are account holders of the State Bank of India, Secretariat Branch have resented the condition laid down by the bank authorities for signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Police Headquarters for issuing personal and housing loans to them.
Aggrieved police personnel whose monthly salary are being disbursed through the bank after opening their accounts and paying the necessary gratuity contended there is no need for signing any MoU with the Police Headquarters and the condition laid down is unreasonable.
It is not the Police Headquarters which has been paying salary to the police personnel as the same is being done by the DDO concerned of the SPs and COs of the Battalions concerned, they said.
While urging for taking into account of their aspiration and extend the loan facilities, the security personnel have also appealed to the Bank authorities for paying serious consideration to this matter.
