The Army Day celebration will be held on January 13 at the Leimakhong military garrison, said a statement issued by PIB (Defence Wing).
Though Army day is traditionally celebrated on January 15, this time it has been preponed to January 13 to enable the civilians view the impressive display being put up by the Red Shield Division.
Army day is celebrated on January 15 as it on this date in 1949, that the first Indian, Lt General KM Cariappa took over as the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army, added the statement.
The Red Shield Division has invited the people, youth and school children of the State to witness the event on January 13.The celebration will start from
10 am.
