Taking strong exception to the plan to inaugurate reservation counter and bus parking here on Sunday, a Churachandpur District Students Union petition submitted to the Chief Minister today called upon the latter to alter the plan as �Sunday is the day of worship for all Christians everywhere in the world�.
The memo to the Chief Minister said, CDSU while welcoming and appreciating every development initiative taken up in the district, is surprised to know that the Government is planning the couple of inauguration on Sunday.
�Giving disregard to the day of worship is a disregard to the religion and in turn a disregard to the people,� it says.
Pleading the Government to alter its plan to any other convenient day but Sunday, in the interest of the people, the union has pledged to extend its utmost co-operation if necessary for the same.
Meanwhile, hosted by ZYA Hqs, the Joint Philanthropic Organisation later in the day celebrated Advance Christmas at YPA Hqs hall here.
Attended by eminent social workers and several Philanthropists, the gathering called upon all section of the society to maintain tranquillity during the festive season.
Mention may be made that, in their endeavour to ensure that every people enjoy the festivity to the fullest without any disturbance a large number of toy guns with bullets have already been confiscated by the Joint Philanthropic Organisation.
