'Disappeared man' shows up

In a dramatic turn of events, one Khuraijam Helemjit Singh of Mayang Langjing Tamang, whom the locals as well as his family members, had been reported as missing since December last, today presented himself before a group of newspersons.
Without providing much detail as to why such a false claim was made by none other than his father, Helemjit clarified that he went to Singapore for a training course on Marine Protection Rescue Service.
He also dismissed as baseless and improper allegations levelled by his father Kh Munal against one Wahengbam Holendro, an advocated by profession and whom Munal accused of involvement in his son's disappearance.
Explaining on his prolonged absence from home, Helemjit said he along with one Gotimayum Harischandra s/o G Indrajit of Thoubal Wangkhem left for Singapore on December 12, 2010 .
However, shortly after joining the training course information was received about family elders claiming his whereabouts could not be traced, the 24-year old stated adding that he decided to return to Manipur in order to clear any doubt about his status.
He also claimed to have signed a bond of Rs 3.80 lakhs with a Singapore-based agency where he was undergoing training.
The bond was signed with the understanding that he will not quit the assignment within a period of 25 years.
Expressing resentment that undue interference by his parents an local activists have ruin his career, Helemjit also asserted that the bond amount should be reimbursed to him by his father and the local NGOs responsible to creating the ruckus.
Informing that he was not stay with his parents, Helemjit said he will seek shelter with human rights groups.
He further contended that prior information about his plan to leave for Singapore was already intimated to Lamshang police station in the presence of the local MLA and family members/relatives.
