Imphal, December 13:
Categorically rejecting the statement of the PRO of Assam Rifles, which was published in some section of the media today, the proscribed UNLF today reiterated its earlier charge and said that a large number of villagers in Khengjoi area have fled their homesteads following the heavy bombardments of their villages by the security force.
The truth can be assessed by the media, said the outfit in a statement and added that the UNLF will be happy to extend all aid to the media in digging out the truth.
The statement of the Assam Rifles PRO however did not come as a surprise for false propaganda is their source of sustenance, said the outfit.
Earlier too, the village chiefs of Khenjoi, Dingpi and other villages at the border had informed the media that the security force had fired over 5000 bombs at their hamlets causing immense loss to the people, recalled UNLF.
At the moment, about 500 displaced villagers are taking shelter at Molcham village along with the MPA cadres, claimed the statement and added that some have started leaving for Moreh to find shelter.
Should this be taken as a fictionalised account cooked up by the UNLF, countered the statement.
The agenda of the security force in bombarding the villages is to make the people feel that they are facing the situation because of the presence of the UNLF cadres.
The villagers also know the agenda of the security force, maintained the outfit.
Till date, the security force have been grossly violating the rights of the people.
Many civilians have been forced to line up and mowed down, many women have been raped and killed and villagers, especially from the Khengjoi/Dingpi area are being used as human shields by the security force, it charged.
However what the security force should realise is that no force can demoralise the UNLF cadres, not even nuclear attacks, it added.
