Seriously concern over the slow pace developmental works of Barak bridge construction, problems faced due to SDO Tamei absence, Tamei-Tenning road to declared as National Highway and all funds and schemes of Tamenglong district to strictly to be monitor, the Zeliangrong Youth Front along with various Zeliangrong leaders and students leader has deliberated on the issues and resolved four major resolutions to adhere.
The joint meeting of Zeliangrong Youth Front, Assam, Manipur & Nagaland (ZYF-AMN), Zeliangrong Union, Tamei zone, Zeliangrong Youth Front Nungba zone, Zeliangrong Youth front Tamei zone, student's leaders, all chairman of village authorities, Tamei sub-division and various social organization leaders had held on December 9, at Tamei Headquarters, the statement of ZYF-AMN said.
According to the statement issued by ZYF-AMN, the first resolution mentioned that they will pressure the concerned authority for early execution of the construction work of Barak bridges by extending fullest cooperation to the eligible contractors who will under take the works without any fear, favouritism and influence.
It said that the overall process and progress of the work is entrusted to ZYF, adding any organization interfering in the process and progress will be construed as anti-development and anti-Zeliangrong.
Irregular attendance by the SDO Tamei has rendered people of Tamei subdivisions unnecessary problems especially during Christmas season and non-release of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) fund even after the execution of necessary works by the villagers has created confusion, hence it is entrusted to pressure the SDO Tamei for stationing regularly, the second resolution cited.
Due to slow pace of progress of Tamei-Tenning road construction/expansion work after withdrawing Rs.8 crores out of the total Rs.13 crores, the meeting resolved and entrusted the ZYF to pursue the works including taking legal assistance for declaration of the (Khongsang-Dimapur via Tamenglong-Tamei-Tenning) road as National Highways in pursuance of its memorandum submitted to Minister road and Highways in the year 2005, said the third resolution.
The fourth resolution said that although various developmental schemes and funds are sanctioned and released apart from normal funds flow for Tamenglong district such as RSVSY, NFFW, NREGS etc., the condition is seemingly not changed in all round spheres which the work is entrusted to ZYF to check how the fund is being used, concluded the statement.
