Foundation stones laid in Keirao AC

Minorities and Other Backward Classes Minister Md Alauddin Khan today laid foundation stones for construction of four community halls at different locations of Keirao Assembly Constituency.
The community halls are to be constructed at Phunal Maring Khunou, Phunal Maring Khunthak, Phunal Maring and Poirou Tongba villages.
speaking at the occasion, Minister Alauddin said taking into account absence of a common congregation venue for the locals the Poirou Tongba village community hall is being planned while similar facility at the three Phunal Maring villages is either due to destruction of community halls by storm or the structures getting worn-out.
Estimating that about Rs 30 lakhs will have to be expended for construction of the four community halls, Alauddin said he would also contribute his mite for providing construction materials and appealed to all concerned to extend cooperation whenever development works or welfare schemes are taken up in the assembly constituency.
calling upon the villagers to harness rain water as relying solely on the iril river for cultivation and consumption would be impracticable, the Minister further assured them all possible measures would be initiated to ensure people in Keirao AC enjoy benefits out of various Central sponsored welfare programmes such as NREGS.
Among others, Executive Director (Senapati) H Rupachandra, SDO/BDO (Saikul) L Nandakumar, Executive Member (Sadar Hills) ML Dominic Kansouwa and Executive Engineer (DRDA/Senapati) T Bijoy, speaking at the occasion conveyed to the local populace to air their grievances without hesitation so that development programmes could be implemented in their respective areas.
