Former MP Meghachandra passes away

Imphal, May 29 2011:
Former MP Moirangthem Meghachandra passed away at his residence at Uripok Ningthoukhongjam Leikai on May 25 last.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, six daughters, four grandsons and eight grand daughters.
Born on August 24, 1924, Meghachandra was elected as a Member of Parliament to the 4th Lok Sabha from Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency in 1967 .
He was later elected MLA in 1972 and 1974 and became Cabinet Ministers of Education, Medical, Forest and Co-operation etc in the State Government.
Meghachandra also served Manipur Public Service Commission as a Chairman from 1981 to 1987 .

He passed LLB from University of Delhi in 1958 and MA from University of Calcutta in 1947 .
