The week-long observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, 2007 organised by Committee on Anti-Drug and Alcohol (CADA) concluded successfully along with a motor cycle rally today.
Despite the scorching heat, more than 800 anti-drug campaigners including 50 women participated in the motor cycle rally spreading awareness among the people on the issue of drug abuse and alcoholism in Manipuri society.

The theme for this year's observance is 'Life is beautiful without drugs.
Do drugs control your life ? Your life.
Your community.
No place for drugs'.
The motor cycle rally was flagged off from Khuman Lampak Main Stadium by MLA I Ibohalbi at 8.30 am today and it covered different parts of the four valley districts namely Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal and Bishnupur.
All the participants, two each on one motor cycle and irrespective of their age put on white T-shirts with the message of the anti-drug day written on them.
All along the way, people in large number came out to cheer them and offered water and other eatables.
From Khuman Lampak, the rally passed through Dingku Road, Chingmeirong Khongnang Ani Karak, Thangmeiband Lilashing Khongnangkhong, Nagamapal, Wahengbam Leikai, Keishampat and proceeded along Tiddim road on its way to Nambol, Bishnupur, Moirang Lamkhai and Kumbi Bazar.
From Kumbi Bazar, the motor cycle rally crossed Kumbi bridge and proceeded to Wangoo Lamkhai via Wangoo Sagang.
From there it passed through Umathel, Waikhong, Thongjao and arrived at Wabagai Lamkhai where lunch was served and a public meeting held.
At 2 pm, the rally was again flagged off from Wabagai Lamkhai by the local MLA Usham Deben for its returned journey to Imphal.
On its returned journey, the rally passed through Kakching Bazar, Indo-Burma Road, Sora, Khongjom, Wangjing, Khangabok and Thoubal Bazar where another public meeting was held.
After the meeting, the motor cycle rally passed through Lilong, Singjamei, Moirangkhom, Babupara, Sanjenthong, New Checkon, Telipati, Khurai Lamlong, Khurai Thong and reassembled at the starting point.
The rally concluded at around 4.50 pm.
At Khuman Lampak, a mammoth public meeting was held with member of Manipur Human Rights Commission Ng Nongyai as chief guest and president of MAFYF Sapamcha Kangleipal, president of NIPCO Y Nabachandra, president of AMKIL Ph Shakhi, president of CADA K Taruni, president of UCM Langamba, president of UPF Th Mangi, president of TammiChingmi S Momon and secretary general of MAPI Council L Bimol as presidium members.
After deliberating on the issue of drug abuse, alcoholism, illicit tra and its implication in Manipuri society today, the meeting adopted four different resolutions which relate to intensifying the ongoing campaign against drug abuse and alcoholism along with rehabilitation of the drug abusers and pushers with the main objective of making Manipur a drug free State.
In this regard, the meeting further resolved to convene a three-day National Convention on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Manipur from October 5 to 7 at Imphal.
