At least six persons reportedly sustained injuries when clashes broke out between two groups of people at Khomidok today.
The clashes erupted when the family members of one Md Babu, the main accused in the killing of Loubuktongbam Mina on June 6, during a brawl who have been banished from the locality, returned to plough their paddy field this morning.
The six persons who sustained injuries in the incident are identified as Md Samir (24), Md Ayub Khan (30), Md Allauddin Khan (35), Md Abdul Rafique (50), Md Habibur (22) and Md Jamulauddin alias Tomba (60).Timely arrival of the police managed to put the situation under control, according to information received by the press.
However, the houses belonging to Md Mubi (32), the younger brother of Md Babu have been razed to the ground by the infuriated local people, the source added.
On the other hand, one 40-year old Keisham Ibopishak of Uyumpok under Lamlai Police Station has been reportedly hospitalised at RIMS after he was stabbed with a knife on the right side of his lower stomach by one Naoroibam Thoiba (45) of the same locality.
