Chairman of Manipur Pollution Control Board, E Dwijamani has said that the disposal of waste materials will be channelised by the Manipur Pollution Control Board.
He said the MPCB has decided to initiate action if the IMC fails to obtain the authorisation consent, as done in other states.
MPCB Chairman and MLA E Dwijamani was speaking as the chief guest at the sensitisation programme on Bio-medical waste management held at the Conference Hall of JN Hospital today.
The programme was jointly organised by the MPCB and JN Hospital.
The functional president, MLA and Chairman of MANITRON Kh Ratan said the government and hospital authority should not be diffident in disposing the bio waste materials of the hospital on the pretext of lack of fund.
He said the bio-waste materials should be disposed in order to make a healthier environment.
The occasion was also graced by Dr A Dwijamani, director of JNIMS as the guest of honour.
The chief guest has also released two posters with the theme 'Action Point for Managing Bio-Medical Waste' and 'Code of Practice for Managing Bio medical waste.
