Normal working in lower court here paralyzed Tuesday as lawyers ceased work and staged a sit-in protest demanding safe release of their colleague, advocate Manoharmayum Ibotombi Sharma kidnapped by some suspected militants.
The advocate was kidnapped by some suspected militants 10 days back on October 25 last, his is still in the captivity of the kidnappers who police suspect related with extortion demand.
The senior advocate, Ibotombi has been kidnapped on October 25 last along with his Maruti Car.
Family members said, he failed to return home after he went out from saying that he is going to workshop for servicing the vehicle.
Earlier, lawyers of high court had staged a sit-in protest on October 30 last demanding unconditional and safe release of the advocate on humanitarian ground.
Today, lawyers ceased court work of the day ad staged the sit-in protest under the banner of the All Manipur Bar Association (AMBA).
The protest will continued till tomorrow, according to the general secretary of the association.
Participants in the sit-in protest in front of the Cheirap Court, Imphal appealed to the abductors to release their colleague considering for service of the legal fraternity.
