Imphal, August 26:
The Kuki Movement for Human Rights has posed a series of questions to Chief Minister O Ibobi regarding the failure of the Government to convert Sadar Hills to a full fledged revenue district.
In an open letter addressed to the CM, KMHR reminded that Sadar Hills was one of the designated six districts and added that it has its own elected representatives.
The rights body then questioned why Sadar Hills has been singled out as a problem district and not given a DC, SP and why it has been made subordinate to Senapati district.
Though respective Chief Ministers have given their assurance to upgrade Sadar Hills to a revenue district, it has never been fulfilled, asserted KMHR and added that the formation of the Demand Committee, staging rallies every now and then, frequent blockade of highways, the 48 hours bandh called have violated rights of human life and economic losses.
The Govt must therefore explain the truth and compensate the losses including human lives so that justice prevails.
