The impasse over the passenger fare of the Diesel Auto-rickshaw and Tata Magic service was settled at a meeting held yesterday.
Passenger service will resume at the earlier fare rates, said General Secretary of United Committee Manipur today.
Following the agreement, normal service has resumed from today.
The settlement on the five day long impasse was brought about today in a meeting between representatives of United Committee Manipur (UCM) and transporter associations held in the office of the motor vehicle transport at Babupara in which officials of the transport department also attended, he said.
In the meeting it was agreed to resume the passenger service with fare rate fixed by the state transport department in 2008 until a revision regarding the matter is effected by the government.
Copies of the resolution of the meeting will also be furnished to the Chief Minister and other authority concerned.
From the government side, the meeting was represented by Director of Transport, VK Sharma, DSP, Traffic, Yengkhom Victoria.
From the UCM side, its President Yumnamcha Dilipkumar, General Secretary W Seken, Vice President Y Nabachandra, Finance Secretary BM Yaima Shah and others took part in the meeting while members of the All Manipur Light Vehicle (Petrol Auto, Diesel Auto, Tata Magic) Association represented the passenger transporters.
