Farmers of Ukhrul, Chandel and Senapati today held interaction with the agricultural scientists of the Central Agricultural University at the conference hall of the university and discussed on cultivation of crops in the drought hit fields.
The discussion session was participated among other by the dean of the College of Agriculture, CAU, N Iboton head of the department of animal science Dr Daneshwor, scientists of the CAU, famrers of Phailem Khul of Chandel district led by its chief Ngamkhojam Guite, chief of Lishiphung village of Senapati district Stephen and others.
Scientists participate in the programme aware on the protection of crops from insects, pest and others apart from teaching them method of cultivation of crops in water scanty areas.
They also said the farmers that cultivation of cabbage, pea, U-mangra will be more benefitted than that of growing paddy in the hills area.
They also assured the farmers of imparting technical know how during cultivation they are interested.
