This was stated by TP Athaipou 45 alias TP Namthailung son of TP Namga of Tamenglong Ward No V Duithanlong an oldest scribe seller in Tamenglong while interacting with the Hueiyen Lanpao here today afternoon.

At present there are three newspaper stalls selling newspapers and magazines or attached with PCO or CD library in Tamenglong district HQs.

Selling of newspapers has no much income however; he wants to continue to sell the newspaper till his last breath to earn his daily bread.

TP Athaipou recalled that he started to sell news papers only three- four newspapers of Manipur Mail and just two newspapers of Prajat Tantra both published from Imphal, along with some stationeries items in the year 1985.He then converted his shop to sell only newspaper since 1990 .

However, to generate more income he also tried to deal with CD library in 2005 and continued till today.

He went on to mentioned the hardship face while selling the newspaper that the subscribers usually tried to escaped without paying monthly subscription fees.

"The subscribers will be asked to wait for two- three months subscription fess saying that they will pay the three months subscription at one time.

But I have to pay regularly to the Imphal agent", he said.

During bandhs, general strikes and blockades or heavy rains and mudslides made his income comedown merciless, he said.

Even late arrival of passenger bus who carried newspaper will reduced his income.

Sometimes some army forces will comes to his resident to take the newspapers in the shop even if the shops were closed, he said.

With all much difficulty he was running a newspaper stall for around 25 years and he said that he will be continued to sell newspaper till his last breath to earn their daily bread.

He had a great hope that now many young students with different colours are going schools, one day they will come to read the news paper and that he will raise his income.

He also advises the young children to cultivate the habits of reading and grasp information and take advantages to develop yourself and your society and taking one step ahead will definitely change a lot.

His wife was one a teacher in private school in Tamenglong district and had stop for last few year.

She weaves cloths and sold hem in the bazaar helping him to bring up the four children.
