During the last four years of existence of All Manipur Anti-Drug Association (AMADA) seized intoxicant items and drugs worth Rs 2,22,44,281, stated the annual report of the body on completion of its four drive against drug and other intoxicant items.
Among other items seized and destroyed by the AMADA includes Yoo-ngou, no.-4 (Heorin), Spasmo Proxyvon tablet, N-10 tablet, Ganja, foreign liquor, Recodex, Raja-Khaini, Talab, Zarda etc and material use in brewing local liquor, the annual report added.
During the same period of time it had held 212 awareness programmes on the demerit of the intoxicant items and to the students of 31 schools.
A total of 612 persons doing small business with wine and traffickers were caught during the period from December 21, 2008 to December 20, 2009, AMADA had caught 229 male wine venders and 187 women wine vendors.
45 SP tablet male venders, five women, nine male drug traffickers, three female, five ganja venders, 13 selling zarda, Khaini, talab, mitha mana yonba and nine female caught.
A total of 478 users of drugs and other toxicant items caught during the same period.
The annual report also put down some of the mistake committed by its volunteers in which the body penalized them.
