The final voter turn percentage to the polling to the Inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency where polling held yesterday recorded at 70.67 out of 8255019, according to final record of the polling available with the state Chief Electoral Office today.
Highest polling recorded at the state chief minister's Assembly constituency, Thoubal A/C with 89.65 percent while the lowest polling recorded at Thangmeiband A/C in Imphal west with only 46.97 percent, a shadow of boycott called by the JAC formed in connection with murder of SDO, Kashom Khullen, Ukhrul district Th Kishan, his driver Rajen and mandal Token.
Interestingly, even though maximum turn out voters recorded in Thoubal A/C, at Konthoujam A/C where the Congress candidate and sitting MP, Dr T Meinya recorded casting of only 71.61 percent.
A total of 583072 voters out of 825019 exercise their franchise.
With 307293 turn out record of female voters, more women exercised their franchise than their male counterpart.
A total of 275779 male voters turn out to cast vote yesterday.
Highest turned out of voters recorded at Thoubal district included in the Inner constituency with 82.22 percent.
In the three Assembly constituencies in the district out of the total 79803 voters, 65613 casted votes with highest percentage recorded with Thoubal Assembly segment, the constituency where state chief minister, O Ibobi represented in the state Assembly.
In the Ibobi's Assembly segment, out of 26925 voters 24139 voters representing 89.65 percent casted votes as per the state ECO report.
The percentage is highest among the 32 A/Cs that formed the Inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency.
Mention may be made here that CPI is demanding re-polling at one of the polling stations 31/22 inn this constituency by Congress workers led by N Gojen, the brother of the wife of the chief minister, O Ibobi Singh who is also an MLA of the state Assembly.
Imphal west recorded lowest voters turn out record with only 66.31 percent out of 322550 voters.
The total number of votes casted was 213896 in this district.
Among the 13 Assembly segments of the district, Thangmeiband A/C recorded lowest with only 46.97 percent.
The low turn out of voters in this district was observed as due to the boycott called by the JAC against the killing of SDO, Dr Kishan and his two co-staff denouncing government inaction to the case.
The district is also the home district of the sitting MP Dr T Meinya contesting the election in Congress ticket.
Highest percentage of vote cast recorded with the Wangoi Assembly segment, the home Assembly segment of the BJP candidate, former chief minister, W Nipamacha with 83 percent.
Out of 23515 voters here, 19590 exercised franchise yesterday.
Other A/Cs also recorded low turn out of voters ranging from 55 % to 77.06 % .
Out of total 265225 electors in Imphal east 188826 representing 71.61 percent used their franchise while Bishnupur district, the home district of MPP candidate Th Chaoba former Union minister recorded 72.18 percent turn out.
In Chaoba's home constituency 84.30 percent of the total 27884 voters casted votes which is also the highest percentage among the six constituencies of the district.
The lowest turn out of voters accorded at Moirang A/C with 63.39 percent.
Thanga A/C with 64.66 percent closely followed the Moirang A/C with 64.66 percent.
Imphal east district recorded overall 189926 representing 71.61 percent voting out of total 26,5225 registered eligible electors.
In this district, Andro A/C recorded the highest turn out of voters with 83.61 percent while Yaiskul A/C with only 56.71 percent recorded the lowest turn out of voters.
Polling to the Inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency extend across the three valley districts and three Assembly segments of Thoubal district where seven candidates are in the fray concluded peacefully by and large even as CPI and MPP lodged complaint with the ECI demanding re-poll to at least 13 polling stations with alleged malpractice during the poll hour.
