The Umanglai Kanba Apunba Lup (UKAL) has issued certain guidelines to the Lai committees for the Lai Haraoba.
The conditions were resolved in the international workshop held some months back.
Informing this in a press release, UKAL appealed to the Lai Committees to use traditional instruments like Langde, Senbung and Toudri, in addition to the conventional drum, side drum, clarinet and bells.
It further cautioned the committees not to make use of any modern electrical music instruments on the occasion.
It appealed to the Maibis, Maibas and Pena Khongbas to abide by the guidelines of the UKAL while performing the religious ceremony.
It also cautioned the committees not to include any sort of entertainment, which may depict the religious ceremony in a wrong and improper manner.
If any of the committees are found disobeying the guidelines, UKAL will prohibit the Maibas, Maibis and Pena Khongbas from participating in the Lai haraoba in those villages.
UKAL also appealed to those who want to perform Lai Haraoba ceremony outside the state to abide by the guidelines of UKAL.
A General Body meeting of UKAL has also decided to give state award to one of the Amaibas, Amaibis and Pena Khongbas from amongst the different Lai Haraoba locations.
