Ukhrul, May 02 2010:
The Tangkhul Naga Frontal Organisation (TNFO) has today appealed to the public to refrain from the forthcoming ADC election.
In a press hand-out signed by its convener Solomon Ningshen, the frontal organisation has expressed unconditional support to ANSAM's vision and course of action in safe guarding and protecting the Constitutional rights of the tribals in Manipur.
The statement alleged that the State Government's decision to conduct the ADC election after a gap of 20 years without the consent of the tribal people is nothing but the biases of Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and his regime's divisive policy and tyranny tactics in suppressing the rights of the tribals.
Many representations have already been addressed to the State Government from various Tribal frontal organisations for immediate deferment of ADC election but the State Government's adamant attitude in spite of strong resentment from the tribals is nothing but a game plan to divide the confluence harmony and subjugate the right of the tribals which is uncalled for and unjustified and is to be condemned by all right thinking citizen and organisations, it asserted.
The statement further maintained that the tribal people know what is best for them and let it be also known and believe in the existence of a supreme tribals when it comes to their self determination and just
peace.
Meanwhile, TNFO against ADC election 2010 has resolved to appeal each and every intending and aspiring candidate to restrain from filling nomination papers and to appeal the tribal brethren to completely abstain from participating in the State Government's proposed and imposed ADC election.
