Gorkha bodies decry abduction of youths

Manipur Gorkha Welfare Union, All Manipur Gorkha Students Union ,Nepali Sahitya Parishad and Bharatiya Gorkha Parisang have strongly condemned the abduction of Ningma Sherpa (17), s/o Deepak Sherpa; Rajkumar Limbu (18) s/o Surajkumar Limbu; Lakpa Sherpa (17), s/o Pasong Sherpa; Tensing Sherpa (17), s/o Phuphu Tsering; Sanjoy Limbu (18) s/o Ram Bahadur; Shannu Limbu (17) s/o Laxman Limbu; Manao Tamang (18), s/o Narayan Tamang by Kuki militant suspected to be KRF.
In a joint statement, these Gorkha organizations have contended that at the time of abduction, the Kuki militants have threatened the family members with dire consequences if they divulge the matter to any authority.
As a result, the family members could not utter any words and some youths from Mahavir and Gopibung villages under Santolabari Gram Panchayat, Senapati district have fled to Kanglatongbi to escape from being abducted by the Kuki militants.
The joint statement maintained that KRF which is going for SoO in near future but it has not the strength of cadres to sign the SoO and so to show the strength, the abducted Nepali youths are kept in their base camps.
Drawing the attention of all concerned, the aggrieved Gorkha organizations have also appealed for safe release of the abducted youths.
