Cabinet nod on MoU with UPPK

Imphal, May 18 2013 :
A meeting of the State Cabinet convened this evening has approved signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with United People's Party of Kangleipak (UPPK), whose 45 armed cadres surrendered to the State government on February 5 this year.
The Cabinet meeting also seriously deliberated on matters related to formulation of ground rules and setting up of designated camps for the surrendered UG cadres.
Furthermore, the Cabinet also discussed the issue of frequent shortage of fertilizer (Urea) in the State and later approved stocking up of 15000 metric tonnes of urea by Agriculture Department.
The matter of land acquisition for road expansion was also discussed by the State Cabinet and further resolved to carry on the acquisition process by paying necessary compensation to the land owners.
