Landhoni to go to HC against NIA

Moirang-them Landhoni, who has been on a fast, has decided to go to the HC against rejection of her bail plea by the NIA.
Landhoni has been in the custody of the NIA since she was arrested by security forces on August 18 last year when she was in Guwahati to meet her husband, who was among the UNLF cadres arrested by the security forces on the same day.
Londhoni is at the Guwahati Medical College where she was admitted after her health condition deteriorated as she began a fast unto death stir against the court ruling rejecting her bail application on March 14.Her fasting stir entered the ninth day today.
Landhoni's counsel Asim Talukdar said the decision to go to Gauhati High Court against the NIA court ruling was taken considering her deteriorating health condition.
The counsel added he is trying to obtain a certified copy of the NIA special court order passed on March 14 .
Asim recalled that after her arrest on August 18 last year, Landhoni was produced in the Chachari CJM court on March 20, 2010.On the same day, Landhoni was taken into custody by the NIA.
As per rule, NIA has to submit a charge-sheet for a man or woman arrested by them within 180 days.
After examining the charge-sheet, bail can be granted if the accused applies for.
