Landhoni yet to give up fight, to approach HC

Undeterred by the rejection of the bail plea of Moirangthem Landhoni by the special Court of the NIA, the gutsy lady who has been on a fast unto deth agitation against her arrest has decided to approach the Gauhati High Court for redressal of her grievances.
Counsel of Landhoni,, Asim Talukdar while speaking to the media said that, Landhoni who has been moved to the Gauhati Medical College after she launched a fast unto death agitation to protest her confinement, is now determined to approach the Gauhati bench of High Court to seek redressal for wrongful confinement.
The bail which was moved earlier was heard and squashed on March 14 by the NIA Landhoni yet to give up fight, to approach HCCourt, said the Counsel.
With other no other options left, Landhoni has decided to approach the Gauhati High Court said Talukdar.
Necessary documents, including certified copies from the NIA court have been obtained, said the counsel.

Landhoni was arrested on August 18 last year and on August 20, she was produced before the CJM Court of Cachar.
There the Court ruled that after the arrest of a person, it is mandatory that the charge sheet should be filed within 180 days or else bail can be granted.
Manwhile the fast unto death agitation launched by Landhoni, against the alleged wrongful confinement, has entered the 9th day today.
Her condition has deteriorated in the last few days and doctors have to forcefully administer saline drops to her.
Despite her fragile conditions, Landhoni said that she would go on with fast.
Landhoni had gone to Assam to meet her husband and it is a travesty of justice that she was also implicated in numerous cases and arrested.
At the time of the arrest, the only possession on Landhoni was a mobile phone.
The series of allegations levelled by the NIA against her are all baseless, said family members of Landhoni.
The family members also felt betrayed by the State Government for not showing any sense of urgency or concern to look into the case, even after the woman has been in the custody of the NIA for such a long time.
Mother of two babies, Landhoni has also expressed her gratitude to the women folk for showing their solidarity.
