Imphal, November 22:
Undue pressure of parents on their children to do well in their studies without understanding the problems and limitations of their children has turned out to be the root cause of drama enacted by a student class X in Little Flower School who was found lying in the toilet of the school with her hands and legs tied and the mouth gagged.
Talking to mediapersons at the school in connection with the November 19 incident today, the student in question confessed that no one was involved in the incident and she herself had staged everything just to give out a message to all the parents and teachers who are giving undue pressure on the students.
She also promised not to indulge in such acts in future and appealed to other students not to do it.
On why she acted thus, the girl said she thought it was the best way of making her point.
"Inspite of undue pressures from the parents and teachers to do well in our studies, I do not get much time to talk about my problem.
So I was very sad," she said.
About the problem in her family, the girl student said her parents have been telling her all the time to do well in her studies and get more mark in the examination, but they do not have time to spend with her and understand her problems.
Nor did she get the opportunities to confide her problems to her parents.
While remaining in this mental state for days, the day of her selection examination finally arrived and she had not prepared well for the examination.
So she thought of enacting the drama so that afterward when her parents and teachers questioned her she can explained everything to them.
Headmistress of Little Flower School Pennyrose Chinir who was also present at the occasion said the incident of the girl student has opened the eyes of the parents.
The incident has taught a lesson to all the parents and the to the teachers that they not ignore the problems that are likely to be faced by the students, the headmistress said.
