Central Reserved Police Force (CRPF) is not taking part in the counter insurgency operation in Manipur but taking active role in the effort to bring normalcy in the state, DIGP of CRPF Madan Singh Raghava said today.
The DIGP was speaking at the civic action programme held at Komkeirap in Churachandpur district organised by the 32 Battalion CRPF.
In the programme, CRPF distributed 23 colour TV and DTH systems for Rs 3,76,970 to chiefs of 23 villages, 24 computer sets/UPS, six printers for Rs 6,83,550 to nine schools and four sets of musical instruments such as electric lead guitar, electric bass guitar, congo triple, dholki, key board with stand for Rs 2,26,000 to four churches for the villages of its responsibility area.

Speaking as chief guest of the function, MS Raghava informed that a total of six battalions of CRPF are deployed in the state to assist the state security forces in improving the law and order.
CRPF is protecting travelers on the NH-53 stretch from Jiribam to Imphal and NH-39 from Imphal to Dimapur from anti-social elements while Assam Rifles, Army and civil police are engaged in counter insurgency operations.
Security forces alolne will not be able to control the law and order situation and insurgencies in the state.
People's co-operation is also needed.
Without people's participation, chaotic situation of the state cannot be ended, Raghava observed.
Youths of the state misguided by the insurgent outfits are carrying out anti-social activities like killing and damaging of public properties, he said expressing confidence that these misguided youths will come out when they came to know the wrong steps they taken and play their part in the effort to bring normalcy in the state.
In this welcome address to the gathering, commandant of the 32th battalion CRPF, BB Vaid said that they took outmost care in distributing the materials under the civic action programme to the most needy.
He also highlighted the inherent spirit of programme as welfare to local populace, bridging the gap between the security force and civilians, besides an attempt to bring a qualitative change in the life of local public.
Apart from MS Raghava, DIGP, DK Ray, GM, NHPC Project, Senior Officers of NHPC, Army, BSF, CRPF, local administration, head of various villages, locals in large number and people from print and visual were present in the programme.
